The Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde gave a unifying lecture last week at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo last weekend.
Bellegarde said the gaps between indigenous and non indigenous people in Canada are staggering, listing conditions in housing, statistics of indigenous people incarcerated and indigenous children in care.
Bellegarde praised the liberals federal budget investment of $8.4 billion into the first nations community and called it an investment in human capitol.
