AFN National Chief encourages healthy lifestyles to prevent diabetes for First Nations

Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde and Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day called for Indigenous peoples across Canada to take action and learn more about diabetes prevention.
The two leaders were encouraging indigenous people in Canada to mark National Aboriginal Diabetes Awareness Day.
Bellegarde said indigenous people can take action to prevent the disease by committing to an active lifestyle.
Chief Day said said indigenous communities can become better communities by getting active to prevent diabetes.
