Creation LAB Class
Kaha:wi Dance Theatre’s Creation Lab is presented by Woodland Cultural Centre from July 31st-August 12. The Lab is about fostering creativity, Indigenous performance & artistic practice. It features an incredible line-up of community classes with visiting Indigenous artists from around the global including:
– Performance installation artist Jaime Black from Winnipeg, Jaime started the RedDress Campaign to acknowledge the MMIW through artistic expression
– Hawaiki T? – Haka Theatre director & choreographer Beez Ngarino Te Waati from Aotearoa, New Zealand teaches Maori Haka and Maori Movement
– Okareka Dance Company director & choreographer Taane Mete also from New Zealand share Maori performance
– Choreographer & Dancer Thomas E.S. Kelly, a Bundjalung, Wiradjuri and Ni-Vanuatu man from Queensland & New South Wales, Australia shares his traditional dance and contemporary styles.
– Alejandro Ronceria director/producer & choreographer based in Toronto via Bogota, Colombia.

CONCERT:
Sunday August 6 from 7:30pm-10:00pm – Artists Presentation with Iskwe Concert presented by the Woodland Cultural Centre – Tickets are $10/Adult; $5/Youth, Senior/Student Tickets available 519-759-2650 and/or at the door
SHOWCASE:
Saturday August 12 from 4:30pm–6:30pm there is a closing Showcase & Celebration with performances and sharing of food
All classes are Pay-What-You-Can at the Door for ages 13+
