Former Ontario Premiere Bob Rae made a visit to the Woodland Cultural Centre this week.
The Centre was previously known as The Mohawk Institute, Canada’s first Residential School.
Rae toured the building and learned more about its dark history.
He was announced an Honorary Patron of the Centre’s Save the Evidence Campaign – a fundraising effort to raise funds to repair and restore the building and ensure the tragic legacy of Residential Schools is preserved.
- Previous House fire on Six Nations, damages estimated at $100,000
