Provincial climate change action plan to include First Nations input

Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day said Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan is a positive step towards indigenous people working with the province to preserve Mother Earth.
Day said most of Ontario’s First Nations communities are on the most vulnerable and valuable lands in the province. While a shocking 90% of Ontario’s entire population lives on just 13% of the provincial land base in southern and urban communities.
Day said he is cautiously optimistic First Nations Indigenous Knowledge will help guide the Climate Change Action Plan, and is anticipating First Nations inclusion in developing a provincial green economy.
