Brantford Police said human remains were found in West Brantford behind Fordview Court by a person walking along the riverbank Monday evening.

Police attended the scene near Silver Bridge. Members of Brantford Police along with professionals from the Centre of Forensics Science in Toronto are investigating.

It is not known if the remains are that of a male or female, however police say the remains appear to have been in the area a long time.

Police do not believe foul play was involved.
