Warehouse fire on Six Nations


Six Nations Firefighters battled an enormous fire early Sunday morning at a warehouse on Chiefswood Road in Ohsweken.

The warehouse, part of Mohawk Log Homes, was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at about 4am Sunday morning. Crews on scene reported seeing multiple large arcs of hydro coming from the burning building.

No fire hydrants were located near the warehouse. Multiple water tanker trucks from Haldimand and Brant Counties, as well as additional firefighters were called in to shuttle water to the scene and help battle the blaze.

In total 14 fire trucks and 50 firefighters brought the fire under control. The building collapsed during the fire. There have been no reported injuries.

Cause of the fire is unknown. Damages have not been yet been estimated. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in assist in the investigation.
