The Six Nations at Grand River Confederacy Council meeting met to discuss matters surrounding the eviction of HDI lawyer Aaron Detlor this weekend.

Members of the Men’s Fire were invited to speak with the Confederacy at their monthly meeting to share why they took action to physically remove Detlor from the Six Nations community.

About 200 community members gathered to give their support to both HDI and those who oppose Detlor remaining on the territory.

HDI Director Hazel Hill addressed the Council in defence of Detlor, saying several individuals and organizations are involved in a plan to discredit the traditional governing body of the Six Nations.

HDI refused to comment.
