Huge Toronto Pow Wow to raise funds for youth centre
01
The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto will be celebrating the North American Indigenous Cultural Festival Pow Wow May 21-22 at Toronto’s Downsview Park.
The Festival will gather over 600 colourful and athletic dancers showcasing their intriguing dance styles, which will be recognized with over $90,000 in awards.
Several of the most talented singing and drum groups will be at the pow wow.
Cynthia Bell, Manager of the ENAGB Youth Program for the Centre said this is one of many fundraising events to help establish an Indigenous North American Youth Centre in the city — that will include emergency & transitional housing, cultural, educational programs and even retail businesses created by Indigenous youth.
