Liberals call for NDP to drop Wab Kinew following offensive tweets
Indigenous leaders from Manitobas Liberal party are calling for Wab Kinew to officially step down from seeking a position in provincial leadership after several inappropriate tweets Kinew made from his official Twitter account were discovered.
The tweets included several derogatory references to women’s bodies, homosexuals and indigenous children experiencing poverty from the reserve community of Attawapiskat.
Kinew was previously under fire for mysogynistic lyrics he wrote and recorded when he was a hip hop artist.
Manitoba’s NDP leader Greg Selinger said he has no plans to drop Kinew as a candidate.
